The open secret that has circulated for the past week has now been officially confirmed this Thursday.

The defender from Camas, who has been inactive since the conclusion of last season with Sevilla, has signed with the Mexican team Rayados de Monterrey.

Sergio Ramos is now a Rayados de Monterrey player. The Monterrey club has completed the most important signing in their history, with their sights set on the Club World Cup to be played this summer in the United States.

The Sevilla center-back is a World Cup winner and two-time European champion with Spain, as well as a four-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid.

He had multiple options, including Boca Juniors, MLS, and the Saudi Arabian League, but ultimately decided to move to Mexico.

Ramos will return to football after almost eight months without competing at an official level.

On Monday, Sergio Ramos underwent a medical examination at the Olympia Salud Quirón clinic, arriving with several members of the Rayados board alongside his brother and agent, René Ramos.

After passing the medical tests, he has committed to Rayados and the club made official on Thursday one of the most eagerly awaited announcements in its history.
