Vinícius Jr Aims To Bring Real Madrid’s Form To Brazil Ahead Of World Cup
Vinícius Jr said on Wednesday that he feels happier and more confident than ever as he aims to translate his Real Madrid success to the Brazilian national team ahead of the World Cup.
The 25-year-old admitted his season has been marked by contrasting phases. He endured a difficult start to the 2025/26 campaign, going 16 matches without scoring.
During that stretch, he was even booed by sections of the Bernabéu crowd.
That difficult period is now well behind him, as Vinícius has rediscovered top form with 17 goals and 13 assists in 43 appearances for Real Madrid this season. Despite a stellar club résumé featuring two Champions League titles and three LaLiga crowns, his return for Brazil stands at eight goals in 45 caps.
With a second World Cup approaching, he is determined to convert his club-level brilliance into major success on the international stage.
”I feel more at ease, I’m happier, and when I’m happier, everyone around me is happier and more confident too,” Vinicius told reporters ahead of Thursday’s friendly match against France.
”I hope that everything I do for Real I can go on to do here with the Brazilian national team. That’s my biggest goal. It’s where I’ve always dreamed of being, and I want to bring great pride to our country and a lot of joy to our entire nation.”
Brazil is seeking a return to glory after its quarter-final exit at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where they were knocked out on penalties by Croatia.
Vinícius, however, says he is shutting out all outside noise as the next tournament approaches.
”I know what I’m capable of and how much I’ve been working to be ready for the World Cup,” he added.
