UEFA has recently released a report stating that Manchester United, one of the prominent teams in the Premier League, possesses the most valuable squad in Europe based on transfer fees paid for players as of the end of the 2023 financial year.
This conclusion was drawn after analyzing the financial data for the 2023 fiscal year. It is noteworthy that no other football team in Europe holds a squad with a higher total financial value than the Red Devils.
According to a viral publication by UEFA on February 15, 2024, the entire Manchester United squad is currently estimated to be worth £1.21 billion.
This valuation arrives at a time when the Red Devils are facing challenges in securing titles and performing well in significant competitions like the UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.
Presently, Manchester United occupies the 6th position on the Premier League table, having accumulated 41 points from 24 games. They are trailing behind Aston Villa, who are in 5th place by a margin of five points.
Furthermore, Manchester United’s journey in the 2023-2023 UEFA Champions League came to an end after finishing at the bottom of their group.
The second-highest valued squad in Europe belongs to Manchester City, the reigning champions of the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup. Their squad is currently valued at 1.1 billion naira.
