AC Milan has confirmed the signing of experienced England international Kyle Walker, who will join the club on loan from Premier League champions Manchester City until the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.

The Rossoneri have secured Walker on a free loan deal and hold the option to permanently transfer him for a fee of €5 million in the future.

According to reports from several outlets over the last week, there is already an agreement in place over a contract until the end of the 2026-27 season with wages in the region of €4.5m per season.

He will wear the no.32 shirt during his first season in Serie A.

The England international, who has made 93 appearances for his country, was originally under contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2026.

However, he informed Pep Guardiola and the club at the beginning of the transfer window that he wished to leave to experience playing abroad before the conclusion of his career.

There had been reported interest from the Saudi Pro League, but the Rossoneri have managed to fend off the competition to bring him to San Siro instead.

He traveled to Milan on Thursday to undergo his medical examination and finalize his contract signing, completing all necessary formalities to secure his move to the Rossoneri.

He becomes Milan’s first signing of the January transfer window.

Though his transfer has been officially announced, it is expected that he will not be available in time to play in Milan’s next league match against Parma in Serie A on Sunday.

Sergio Conceicao currently has four senior right-backs in his squad Walker, Emerson Royal, Davide Calabria, and Alessandro Florenzi.

However, Emerson Royal is expected to be ruled out for around two months after coming off with an injury a few minutes into the team’s 1-0 win over Girona on Wednesday, which has likely wrecked his chances of leaving the club in January.
