Aston Villa Reportedly Close To Signing Borussia Dortmund Winger

Aston Villa is poised to secure the signing of Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund, as reports suggest that the two parties are nearing a deal.

According to the reputable Netherlands-based outlet Voetbal International, the forward has reached a personal agreement with the Premier League club.

Malen may leave Dortmund this month in a deal that could cost around £25 million.

The forward joined the Bundesliga giants in 2021 and has scored 39 times in the yellow jersey.

Villa, which is reported to have reached a multi-year contract agreement with the player, had previously made an offer of only £16 million for Malen.

That offer was quickly rejected by Dortmund.

If he does indeed sign for Villa, Malen will join international teammate Ian Maatsen in Birmingham.

The Dutch duo have also teamed up at the club level, both participating in Dortmund’s loss to Real Madrid in the 2024 Champions League final.
