Barcelona’s Injury Woes Worsen As Pedri Ruled Out For Weeks With Muscle Tear

‎Barcelona midfielder, Pedri, has been diagnosed with a left-leg muscle tear, the club announced on Wednesday, further swelling Barca’s injury-ridden squad.

‎The 22-year-old Spain international is expected to be out for at least four weeks, ruling him out of three upcoming fixtures, according to club sources.

‎Pedri would also miss Spain’s crucial World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Turkey in November.

‎”First team player Pedri has suffered a tear in the distal biceps femoris muscle in his left thigh. The player’s recovery will dictate his return to action,” Barcelona said in a statement.

Barcelona’s injury woes deepen as 12 players have been out since the season began. Among the notable absentees are Robert Lewandowski, Gavi, Raphinha, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Dani Olmo.

‎Barça sits second in La Liga on 22 points, five behind leaders Real Madrid.
