BREAKING: Crystal Palace Moves To Sack Coach Roy Hodgson
Despite his long-standing contribution to the game, Crystal Palace is reportedly considering terminating Roy Hodgson’s contract before the season concludes.
The experienced manager, who has dedicated almost five decades to the sport, seems to be reaching the end of a successful career.
Initially, it was anticipated that the 76-year-old would retire on his own terms at the end of the season.
However, it appears that his career might be abruptly cut short, with retirement being imposed upon him.
This is due to a recent report by HITC’s Graeme Bailey, suggesting that owner Steve Parish is seriously contemplating relieving Hodgson of his managerial duties at Selhurst Park.
With a challenging season and a current position of 14th in the Premier League table, just five points above the relegation zone, Parish is reportedly preparing to make this change now in order to salvage their season.
Despite no definitive decision being reached, HITC holds the belief that Steve Cooper, the former manager of Nottingham Forest, is the favoured candidate for the position by Parish.
At 44 years old, Cooper has been without a job since his dismissal from Forest in late 2021.
However, this situation may soon change as Hodgson contemplates retirement and Parish aims to avoid being embroiled in a relegation battle. Thus, Cooper may face his greatest challenge of the season yet.
