Bryan Mbeumo: Arsenal, Manchester United, And Liverpool Sent Fresh Message Over January Deal
Brentford manager, Thomas Frank says he can’t imagine the size of the transfer fee it would take for Bryan Mbeumo to be sold during the January transfer window amid links to Arsenal.
Mbeumo has truly risen to the occasion for the Bees after Ivan Toney’s departure last summer, scoring 13 goals and providing three assists in the Premier League this season.
His impressive form has sparked discussions about a significant transfer for the 25-year-old. Reports suggest that Arsenal has been quoted £60 million to finalize a deal this month as they look for attacking reinforcements due to injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus.
In addition to the Gunners, Manchester United and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in Mbeumo, who is also said to be on the radar of Newcastle United.
In a statement made last month, Frank emphasized that the club had no intentions of selling him in January, reaffirming this position when speaking to the media ahead of this weekend’s home match against Liverpool.
When asked if a big fee could tempt Brentford to sell Mbeumo, Frank said, “It would be that big a fee that I can’t imagine the size of the fee.
“I’m not even focusing on keeping my best players. I’m just expecting them to stay.”
At the end of the season, Mbeumo will have one year left on his Brentford contract that he signed in January 2022.
However, as part of that agreement, crucially Brentford have the option to extend it by a further 12 months and that immediately strengthens their position in any transfer negotiations.
