Before Arsenal’s match against Liverpool in the FA Cup third round on Sunday, Gabriel Jesus is allegedly dealing with a knee issue.

Although the extent of the injury is currently unknown, SportsXparte reports that the Brazilian international has developed a knee ailment.

The 26-year-old forward is “a doubt” for their matchup with Jurgen Klopp’s league leaders at the Emirates, but there is “hope” that this won’t be a long-term issue for him.

Arsenal, which is presently fourth in the division, has lost its previous two games and has lost the opportunity to lead the Premier League. Even though Jesus is only 4 goals short of a season total in the league, Mikel Arteta’s club is losing out on him.

The Gunners may need to look to the January transfer market for a new striker if the former Manchester City player, who has seven goals and three assists in all competitions this season, is sidelined for an extended period of time. Jesus has had knee problems in the past. Due to that same issue, he missed the first few weeks of this season.

Additionally, following joint surgery, the Brazilian lost three months of the 2022–23 season due to a knee ailment. Following their FA Cup match on Sunday against Liverpool, Arsenal will play host to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on January 20.
