‘It’s Better To Be A King In Your Village’ – Samir Nasri Tells Mbappe To Shun Real Madrid Offer
Former Arsenal player Samir Nasri has offered counsel to Kylian Mbappe, suggesting that rather than making a move to Real Madrid next summer, he should remain in France.
Nasri, a former French international, believes that the 24-year-old has the chance to build a lasting legacy in his own country. Nasri, who made the switch to Arsenal from Marseille in 2008, also mentioned that he would not have departed Marseille if Qataris had owned it during that era.
In an interview with JDD via Le10Sport, Nasri shared, “Yes, even in world football. If he leaves, it will leave a hole, but with the budget, they will be able to recruit other players – who will not be Mbappe, that is clear. But today, he has such importance, whether in the French team or with his club.
“Already two years ago, I said he was the best player in the world. I still think so. He is from the Paris region: I, in his place, I would stay at PSG, instead of going to Madrid, to win the fiftieth Champions League for Real. If OM had been owned by Qatar when I was at the club, I would never have left. I think it is better to be the king in your village.”
AS recently stated that the French national team captain has opted to waive the loyalty bonus promised to him by PSG. In return, the club has agreed not to impede his move to Los Blancos in the summer of 2024. However, on Saturday, Real Madrid confirmed that they have not been in contact with the PSG star. Luis Enrique’s team is set to play their next game on Tuesday in a vital Champions League match against AC Milan.
