Manchester City Reaches Agreement To Sign Tijjani Reijnders From AC Milan
Manchester City has reached an agreement with AC Milan for Dutch midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.
City are expected to pay around 55 million euros (approximately £46 million) for the 26-year-old, who has agreed to a five-year contract to join the Premier League club.
The formalities of the deal are still to be completed but it appears City have landed their first major summer signing.
Reijnders was a standout performer in an otherwise disappointing season for Milan, who finished eighth in Serie A and missed out on European qualification.
Having joined the Italian giants from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2023, Reijnders scored 15 goals in the 2024-25 season.
He will strengthen Pep Guardiola’s midfield options following Kevin De Bruyne’s departure.
City will play their first match of the Club World Cup against Morocco’s Wydad AC on June 18.
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said last week that the club intends to be “very swift” with their transfer business this summer and is planning to have a renewed squad for the Club World Cup.
Reijnders netted 10 goals in 37 Serie A appearances this season. He previously played in the Eredivisie with AZ Alkmaar and PEC Zwolle.
He also has 22 international caps, highlighting his experience on the international stage, including a prominent role for the Netherlands at last summer’s European Championship.
