Manchester United Mourns As Alex Feruguson Loses Wife Lady Cathy

Tributes have been pouring in for Sir Alex Ferguson after the former Manchester United boss lost his wife, Lady Cathy, to death.

Lady Cathy passed away at the age of 84. The news broke out on Friday that the Manchester United legend’s wife had died on Thursday, October 5, 2023.

History has it that Ferguson and Lady Cathy met in 1964 when the Manchester United legend was 23. The duo married two years later and had three sons – Mark, Darren, and Jason.

English Premier League clubs, Man United, and football bodies and lovers have been sending their condolences to Sir Ferguson and his family.

“Everyone at Manchester United sends our heartfelt condolences to Sir Alex Ferguson and his family on the passing of Lady Cathy,” Ferguson’s former club said in a short statement.

“Lady Cathy was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a tower of strength for Sir Alex throughout his career.

“As a mark of respect, our players will wear black armbands during Saturday’s game against Brentford,” the statement added.
