Paul Pogba Completes Doping Suspension, Sets Sights On Football Return

French midfielder, Paul Pogba, has finished serving his 18-month doping suspension and is now prepared to make his return to the official football competition.

After an extended exile from football due to a doping ban, he is finally free to re-enter the competitive scene.

However, his future remains uncertain, as he currently does not have a club following the expiration of his contract with Juventus in November 2023.

The skilled midfielder, who was a member of the France national team that secured the World Cup victory in 2018, tested positive for dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) during an anti-doping test conducted in August 2023.

Since then, he has been away from the pitch, confronting not only his sporting suspension but also personal issues, including a deeply affecting extortion case.

Pogba has conveyed his ambition to return to elite football; however, his contractual situation poses challenges to his immediate reintegration into a top-tier team.

During a Twitch broadcast with streamer AmineMaTue, the player revealed that he has received several offers but has yet to find one that truly convinces him.

Pogba Next Club

Although Pogba is a free agent, he has yet to finalize his next destination. Some leagues, such as France’s Ligue 1, have restrictions that hinder clubs from signing out-of-contract players outside the transfer window.

This limits his options in Europe, although many clubs were mentioned as potential suitors before the winter transfer window closed. Among the options emerging for Pogba are Russia and Brazil.

In the South American country, his friend Memphis Depay has invited him to join Corinthians, though Pogba humorously stated he would play there “for the love of football” without receiving a salary.

Another strong possibility is the United States, where Pogba and his family have been living in Miami since October 2023. He was recently spotted meeting with David Beckham, as well as stars like Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets from the roster, making the team a potentially appealing destination for the Frenchman.

The American league’s transfer window closes on April 23, giving Pogba time to decide whether he wants to continue his career in North America.

While contemplating his future, Pogba has been training independently in the United States, concentrating on his fitness after more than a year without playing in an official match.

His last appearance came on September 3, 2023, when he still wore the Juventus jersey.
