The Premier League stated in a statement, “The alleged breach relates to the assessment period ending Season 2022/23 when the club was a member of the Premier League.”

The club stated, “LCFC remains willing and_ eager to engage constructively with the Premier League and_ the EFL to seek the proper resolution of any potential charges, by’ the right bodies, and_ at the right time.”
The situation with Leicester City is not the first, as other clubs have faced similar situations in the past. Manchester City the defending champions, also faced allegations of financial breaches last year and_ were referred to an independent commission.
