Transfer Expert, Fabrizio Romano Names 2024 UEFA Champions League Favourites
Popular football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has named his favourites to emerge winner of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League campaign.
As the Round of 16 in the Champions League progresses, the picture is becoming clearer as clubs prove their prowess on the pitch at each clash.
Bayern Munich faced a setback in their match against Lazio, failing to register a single shot on target in their 1-0 defeat.
On the other hand, Paris Saint-Germain advanced with Kylian Mbappe’s impressive goal and Bradley Barcola’s stunning strike, securing victory against a resilient Real Sociedad.
Meanwhile, Manchester City secured a well-deserved 3-1 win over Copenhagen, and Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz scored a remarkable goal to give his team an advantage in their first leg against RB Leipzig.
While there are still four more first-leg ties to be played next week, Fabrizio Romano already has his prediction on who will lift the trophy at Wembley later this year.
“I don’t think it’s a big surprise that I’m tipping Man City to go all the way in the Champions League again. They are big favourites this year,” Romano told CaughtOffside.
He added: “Having secured the European title last season, there is less pressure on their shoulders than in previous years, and that is a big bonus for Pep Guardiola.
“They have a fantastic squad and are also ready to make special things happen again because they’ve got a lot of experience after winning the treble too.
“It’s gonna be difficult to stop them.”
Considering the exceptional performance of Pep Guardiola’s team, it is hard to dispute Romano’s choice. Each of the remaining teams in the competition possesses certain qualities that have brought them this far, but City possesses that additional edge.
They exhibit unwavering determination in the Premier League and pose the greatest threat during their remarkable unbeaten streaks. The rest of Europe should be cautious and vigilant.
