PSG Fight Back From the Brink in Monaco

‎Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain produced a performance worthy of defending champions, overturning a disastrous opening to defeat AS Monaco 3–2 in a pulsating first leg.

‎The night could hardly have started worse for the visitors. After just 56 seconds, a loose cross-field pass by Nuno Mendes handed Monaco the initiative, with Aleksandr Golovin cleverly chipping the ball for Folarin Balogun to head home.

‎Balogun added a second inside 18 minutes, outsprinting Marquinhos to fire in confidently as the hosts raced into a 2–0 lead.

‎PSG’s fortunes worsened when Ousmane Dembélé, their Ballon d’Or winner, limped off injured after 27 minutes. But his replacement, Désiré Doué, turned out to be the catalyst for a remarkable turnaround.

‎Doué needed just one touch to change the game slamming home in the 29th minute after good work from Bradley Barcola. He was involved again before halftime when his powerful shot was parried by Philipp Köhn, allowing Achraf Hakimi to pounce for the equaliser.

‎Monaco’s hopes fell apart early in the second half when Golovin was shown a red card after VAR upgraded his yellow for a studs-up tackle on Vitinha. With the hosts down to 10 men, PSG dominated the remainder of the match.

‎The winner arrived in the 67th minute and it was sensational. Doué, full of confidence and energy, drove a pinpoint strike from the edge of the area to complete a superb brace and earn PSG a valuable advantage heading into the second leg in Paris.

‎Galatasaray Outclass 10-Man Juventus

‎Over in Istanbul, Galatasaray dismantled Juventus 5–2 with an explosive display of pace, precision, and sheer attacking confidence.

‎The hosts struck first in the 15th minute when Brazilian maestro Gabriel Sara unleashed a stunning long-range effort. Juventus responded immediately through Teun Koopmeiners, who converted a rebound to level.

‎Koopmeiners doubled his tally in the 32nd minute with a driven shot from outside the box, but Juventus’s lead would not survive the second half.

‎Galatasaray equalised moments after the restart through Noa Lang, who followed up a saved effort from Barış Alper Yılmaz. On the hour mark, Davinson Sánchez turned in a beautifully delivered Sara set piece to restore the hosts’ advantage.

‎They opened the scoring after just three minutes when Serhou Guirassy rose at the back post to head home. Guirassy turned provider shortly before halftime, setting up Max Beier for Dortmund’s second in the 42nd minute.

‎Atalanta struggled to carve out clear chances, leaving the Bundesliga side in a strong position before next week’s return leg in Bergamo.

‎Vinícius Júnior Fires Real Madrid to Victory Amid Ugly Scenes in Lisbon

‎In Lisbon, Real Madrid earned a crucial 1–0 win over Benfica, courtesy of a sensational strike from Vinícius Júnior a moment of brilliance overshadowed by troubling scenes.

‎The Brazilian star curled a magnificent effort into the top corner to settle the match. But shortly after, play was halted for nearly 10 minutes following an alleged racist remark directed at Vinícius, prompting him to temporarily leave the pitch.

‎His teammates and officials eventually convinced him to return as order was restored.

‎Real Madrid continued to dominate the game, but wasteful finishing and an inspired performance from Anatoliy Trubin, who made six crucial saves, kept the scoreline at 1–0.

‎The drama didn’t end there Benfica manager José Mourinho was dismissed for dissent after a heated exchange with the referee. Yet despite the chaos, Benfica remain alive in the tie thanks to Trubin’s heroics.

‎With the second leg to be played in Spain, Álvaro Arbeloa and his side hold the upper hand but they will feel the margin should have been much greater.
