Gabriel Magalhães Pens New Deal To Extend Stay At Arsenal
Gabriel Magalhães, the 27-year-old Brazilian defender for Arsenal, has signed a new contract extending his stay at the club until 2029.
He was previously on a deal with two years remaining.
”I arrived here as a young player and after almost five years I’m so happy and I’ve learned a lot,” Gabriel told Arsenal’s official website.
”I’m so proud of myself, it’s an amazing journey, and I’m so happy to continue it. I hope I win some trophies with this club, because I love this club and my family loves the club, too.
”Arsenal is an amazing club and I’m so proud to sign a new contract. I love this club, I love the supporters, my teammates, I love this stadium. I’m so proud and thank you for all the support. We continue together for the future.”
Since joining Arsenal in 2020, Gabriel has become a key player for the team, making 210 appearances and netting 20 goals from his central defensive position.
Last season, he made 42 appearances under Mikel Arteta before his campaign was cut short in April due to surgery for a hamstring injury.
Arsenal are in negotiations to extend contracts with several key players, including William Saliba, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel.
They are also in talks with academy graduates Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri to secure their future at the club.
