Manchester City midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, who was rumored to be departing from the Premier League champions during the summer transfer window, has clarified that there were never any discussions about leaving the club.

He did, however, mention that he anticipates more discussions will take place at the end of the season.

The Belgian midfielder joined Manchester City in 2015.

Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne has revealed that he hasn’t “spoken to anyone” regarding his future with the Premier League champions.

De Bruyne was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia over the summer but the Belgian stayed put and has now said that there were no conversations at all.

Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester De Bruyne said, “I haven’t spoken to anyone, to be honest,

“There has been a lot of noise and news. I said in the summer I expected a quiet summer, and that’s actually what happened. I’ve been on holiday for four weeks, came back and started training. That was it. Nothing to tell.

“I’ve not been entertained by anybody or spoken to anybody.”

De Bruyne moved to City in 2015 and has been instrumental in their dominance of English football, which has included winning six Premier League titles and the 2022-23 Champions League.

However, after nearly a decade in Manchester, he did admit that “at my age, you have to be open to everything,” when he was asked about the idea of moving to Saudi Arabia over the summer.

De Bruyne told the BBC that he believes discussions with the club will occur at some point during the season. For now, however, he prefers to concentrate on his performance on the pitch.

“Once the season goes on, I’m sure there will be conversations to be had with City,” he said.

“I just want to feel good and play good football, and this will come in the upcoming months. I don’t feel the rush for the moment.”

City have made a strong start to the league season, winning three out of three and scoring nine times, conceding just twice to sit top of the table.
