Italy and Aston Villa star Nicolo Zaniolo has denied the possibility of him moving to Lazio in the summer.

Zaniolo is currently on loan spell at Aston Villa from Galatasaray & the Premier League side will not sign him permanently amidst disappointing performances since his arrival has sparked rumors of a potential move to Lazio in the summer. However, the 23-year-old has boldly denied such claims, mentioning his deep-rooted love for Roma as a barrier to joining their city rivals. In an interview with Corriere dello Sport, Zaniolo expressed his sentiments, stating, “I don’t know anything. But anyway I want to be honest: for what Roma represented for me and also out of respect for the Lazio fans, it would be an unthinkable situation.”

He went on to state that he misses Italy but also stated that it is up to the clubs to define his future, while also expressing his gratitude for Monchi. “What if I miss Italy? Oh sure, a lot. Friends, family, my son. But now it’s up to the clubs to define my future: the card belongs to Galatasaray. In the meantime, let me say that I am grateful to Monchi for still betting on me after signing me from Roma when I was 19.”

In recent weeks, Milan and Fiorentina have also been linked with the Italy international, whose Roma exit was rather resentful.
