Pep Guardiola Issues Strong Warning To Liverpool & Arsenal

Manchester City manager Man City boss Pep Guardiola issues strong warning to Liverpool & Arsenal has urged his team to brace themselves for a fiercely contested Premier League title race that could potentially go down to the last day of the season. As the reigning champions, City have found themselves in a tight battle with Arsenal & Liverpool for the top spot in the league.

Following their impressive 4-1 victory over Aston Villa, which saw Phil Foden net a remarkable hat-trick, City have closed the gap to just one point behind leaders Arsenal and are now level on points with second-placed Liverpool. The outcome of Liverpool’s upcoming match against Sheffield United could see them reclaim the top spot.

Despite their strong performance and position in the league, Guardiola remains cautious, acknowledging that City are currently considered the third favorite to clinch the title for an unprecedented fourth consecutive season. He is well aware of the competitive nature of the race – anticipates that City will need to maintain their winning streak to stay in contention until the very end.

Guardiola believes that the narrow point differences between the top teams mean that even if City win all their remaining matches, the title race is likely to remain closely contested until the final day of the season. Pep said: “If we win all our games it will go until the last day because they are not five, six, seven points in front.

“It will not be easy. The feeling I have is not easy. I see Liverpool & Arsenal playing, they don’t drop points, it will not be easy.”But we have to do our job & don’t regret, ‘Oh, we should have won that game because they lost after’. We cannot do anything, we do not play against them anymore so we don’t control what Liverpool and Arsenal do. All we can do is win our games.”

Despite Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland being named among the substitutes in preparation for next week’s Champions League journey to Real Madrid, Manchester City’s superiority over Aston Villa was undeniable.

Guardiola stood up at reporters’ inquiries about whether City’s current form was arriving at an opportune moment, in response to recent criticisms directed at his team. He said: “We were out of the title race three or four days ago and not playing well, the team was not playing like we did the last six seasons. Now we are in the best form in the league? Come on, guys…”

Pep Guardiola added: “We’ve won a lot of the last games. I cannot say in the game against Arsenal I didn’t recognize my team. We were there all the time, we didn’t create chances because of the quality of defense and because we missed some presence in the box, but the rest, I recognize completely my team.

“That’s why we are calm. As I said, it’s tight, it’s not seven or eight points. It’s close. We have to wait. They have to lose points, otherwise, it will not be possible, but again the team has been exceptional this season, exceptional.”
