Real Madrid goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, has been diagnosed with an injury to the abductor of his left leg, the La Liga club said on Monday.

Courtois completed the full 90 minutes in Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid. However, he is likely to miss Wednesday’s Champions League match against Lille and Saturday’s league game against Villarreal.

The Belgian, who recently said he will not play for the national team while Domenico Tedesco is in charge, has started all 10 games for Real this season, after missing most of last season with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.

Courtois returned to the Real Madrid squad in May and participated in the team that won the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.

However, he was not included in Belgium’s squad for EURO 2024.

Madrid are second in LaLiga, three points behind leaders Barça.
