Sevilla Hands Kelechi Iheanacho New Deal

A prolific forward for the Super Eagles, Kelechi Iheanacho, is set to sign a two-year contract with La Liga club, Sevilla.

Iheanacho is scheduled to arrive in Spain on Tuesday (today) for his medical examinations.

Following the completion of his medicals, Iheanacho is expected to sign the contract documents.

The 27-year-old forward will be joining the La Liga club on a free transfer, following his departure from the Premier League club, Leicester City, last month.

Iheanacho will be reunited with his Super Eagles teammate, Chidera Ejuke, at Sevilla, who also signed with the La Liga club on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Asisat Oshoala, the forward for the Super Falcons, has motivated her teammates in preparation for the important match against Japan on Wednesday.

Sportxparte reports that Randy Waldrum’s team will face the Nadeshiko in their final group stage match at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Nantes.

Having lost their first two games to Brazil and Spain, the West Africans are in a position where they must defeat the Asian champions in order to have a chance at advancing to the quarter-finals.

Oshoala emphasized the importance of giving their all in order to achieve a positive outcome against the Japanese.

“We just have to go all out against Japan. We have to go all out and give everything and make the best out of it because we still have the opportunity to qualify. Hope is not lost,” the Bay FC forward said ahead of the game.

The encounter will kick off at 4pm Nigeria time.
