Their most recent outing a 2-0 loss to Real Madrid extended a dreadful run of form that now threatens to drag them into the chaos below.
The visitors did beat Sevilla earlier this season, ending a nine-year wait for victory over the Andalusians. But they have not tasted success at the Ramón since 2011.
Manolo Gonzalez’s side faces a brutal run-in against Athletic, Osasuna, and Real Sociedad. This makes Saturday’s fixture far more than a routine mid-table meeting.

Atlético Madrid vs Celta Vigo
Atletico Madrid’s Champions League dreams ended in disappointment against Arsenal, leaving Diego Simeone’s side to refocus on securing a top-four finish.
They remain in control of their fate ten points clear of Real Betis. They need only a win this weekend to mathematically guarantee Champions League football for 2026–27.
Los Colchoneros have been strong at home, collecting 43 points from 17 fixtures. They recently defeated Athletic Bilbao 3–2 in their most recent home league match.
Celta Vigo arrive with renewed confidence after a 3–1 win over Elche their first victory in over a month. Sitting sixth on 47 points, Celta occupy the Conference League qualification place but face fierce pressure from Getafe, Athletic, and Valencia.
History tilts heavily toward Atletico. Celta have beaten them just once since 2018 and haven’t won in Madrid since 2007.
While the last two meetings ended level, breaking that near 20-year drought will require a flawless performance.

Atletico remain without Pablo Barrios and Nico Gonzalez. Julian Álvarez may be rested after fitness concerns.

Real Sociedad’s Copa del Rey triumph ensures Europa League football next season. But their recent league form has dipped. With only one point from their last three league matches, La Real are struggling to generate momentum.
They sit ninth on 43 points and can still mathematically finish as high as fifth, though it would require an exceptional final push.
Real Betis, by contrast, is finishing strong. Manuel Pellegrini’s side beat Real Oviedo 3–0 and have taken seven points from their last three fixtures.
Sitting fifth with 53 points, Betis have virtually secured Europa League qualification but retain faint hopes of catching Atlético.
Betis won the reverse fixture 3–1 and have beaten Real Sociedad in their last two encounters.
However, the Basque side are usually strong at home, collecting 28 points from their 17 matches at Anoeta.

Sociedad is without Álvaro Odriozola for the season. While Iñaki Rupérez and Gonçalo Guedes are doubtful. Jon Aramburu is suspended. Mikel Oyarzabal should continue as the central striker with 14 league goals.

Athletic Bilbao vs Valencia
Athletic Bilbao’s season has been frustrating at times, but they remain firmly in the European race. Their 4–2 win over Alavés pushed them to 44 points, level with Getafe and just three behind sixth-placed Celta.
Valencia, meanwhile, sit 12th and remain three points above the relegation zone. Incredibly, they are also only five points off seventh, illustrating the chaotic nature of this La Liga season.
Athletic are strong at San Mamés with 29 home points, while Valencia have struggled away with only 13 points from 17 fixtures. Los Che have lost three of their last four meetings with Athletic, including a 2–1 defeat earlier this season.

Athletic await a fitness update on Beñat Prados but could have a near full-strength squad. Robert Navarro is expected to start after scoring last time out. WHILE Nico Williams aims to build on his brace against Alavés.
Valencia are without Mouctar Diakhaby, Dimitri Foulquier, Copete, Thierry Correia, and Julen Agirrezabala. Lucas Beltrán is doubtful. Corberán is expected to reshuffle his defence and retain Umar Sadiq in attack.

Athletic’s superior home record and stronger squad depth should carry them to a narrow but important win.
Barcelona vs Real Madrid
Few scenarios sting more for Real Madrid than losing and handing Barcelona the league title. Yet that is exactly the situation awaiting Los Blancos at a high-stakes Clásico at Camp Nou.
Barcelona stands 11 points clear with four matches remaining. A draw would mathematically secure the title.
Hansi Flick is on the verge of becoming just the fourth Barça coach this century to win the league in each of his first two seasons.
The Blaugrana are in unstoppable form, with ten straight league wins, their best run under Flick. They have scored in 54 consecutive La Liga matches, the longest current scoring streak in Europe’s top five leagues.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, arrives wounded. Their away form has dipped, losing two of their last five, and Opta’s supercomputer gives them just a 0.08% chance of an impossible title turnaround.
Arbeloa, possibly managing his final matches, will aim to delay Barcelona’s coronation but the odds are firmly against him.
