Chelsea has received a significant boost ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup Final against Liverpool.

Sportxparte understands that two-star players Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella are back in partial training and are expected to continue to work on their fitness levels under the supervision of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Ahead of the crucial match between the two Premier League clubs, Pochettino affirmed during a pre-match press conference that Silva and Cucurella are now back to training and are been monitored to consider whether they will play on Sunday or not.

“I think we need to assess to see whether they can be involved on Sunday. Yes, I will communicate tomorrow if we recover players from training. Yes, he [Thiago Silva] has the chance. Tomorrow, we will see,” Pochettino said.

On the contrary, Manchester United has suffered a major setback as Rasmus Højlund is said to have sustained a muscle injury.

The 21-year-old Dane, who has been in excellent form with six goals in the last six games, is set to be sidelined for the next 2-3 weeks.

This news couldn’t have come at a worse time for the Red Devils as they gear up for an important period in their fight for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Højlund’s absence adds to an already long injury list for Manchester United, with the likes of Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial, and Lisandro Martinez also on the sideline.

The timing of these injuries couldn’t be more unfortunate, with Manchester against City on the 3rd of March.

The absence of influential players like Højlund Shaw will undoubtedly be felt in such an important fixture, where every point matters in the race for Champions League qualification.
