La Liga: Atletico Madrid Suffers Set Back After Draw Against Almeria

Almería showcased their fighting spirit as they came from behind twice to secure a 2-2 draw against Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid at the Power Horse Stadium(Almeria) on Saturday.

Atletico Madrid, known for their defensive quality and tactics under Simeone, have been facing a rough patch in form, with just one win in their last five competitive matches.

Despite this, they started the game strongly, taking the lead early on through a well-worked goal finished off by Ángel Correa.

However, Almería, determined to make their mark, fought back with energy. Luka Romero, on loan from Milan, outshined with a sensational left-footed strike from outside the box to level the score.

Rodrigo De Paul’s deflected shot gave Atletico the lead once again, but Almería refused to give up. Romero scored the second goal of the game and ensured the points were shared, leaving Atleti with a bitter taste of missed opportunities, especially Álvaro Morata’s late chance to snatch victory.

The result leaves Atletico vulnerable in the La Liga standings, with the possibility of dropping out of the top four hovering if results don’t go their way.
