Mbappe Informs PSG Directors He Plans To Leave
According to a reliable source, Kylian Mbappe, the captain of France and a prominent player for Paris Saint-Germain, has informed the club officials about his decision to depart when his contract concludes at the end of this season.
The 25-year-old, who joined PSG from Monaco in 2017, had previously extended his contract until 2024.
However, during the previous summer, Mbappe chose not to activate a clause that would have allowed him to stay for an additional year.
It is widely speculated that Mbappe is likely to make a move to Real Madrid, and it has been reported that negotiations between the player and the Spanish giants have already commenced.
“The terms of the departure have yet to be fully agreed,” AFP quoted the source saying, adding that the club and Mbappe will make an official statement “when everything is finalised in the next few months”.
However, PSG has not made any public announcement regarding the development as of the time this was reported.
PSG is set to face the departure of Mbappe, their all-time leading scorer, as he prepares to join Real Madrid. This move has been a long-standing dream for the player since his childhood.
Real Madrid has openly expressed their eagerness to acquire Mbappe, with club president Florentino Perez attempting to sign him in 2019, 2021, and 2022, but facing rejection on each occasion.
With the loss of their key star, PSG enters a phase of uncertainty, following the departures of Neymar and Lionel Messi in the previous year.
