AFCON 2023: Sadio Mane Helps Senegal Defeat Cameroon 3-1

Al Nassr star striker, Sadio Mane, helped Senegal to defeat Cameroon in the AFCON clash on Friday.

Sportxparte reports that Senegal’s Teranga Lions emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions on Friday, securing a 3-1 victory at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium during the highly anticipated 2023 African Cup of Nations.

Ismaila Sarr’s goal in the 17th minute and Habib Diallo’s impressive performance proved instrumental in Senegal’s triumph. Although Jean-Charles Castelletto managed to narrow the gap with a header, Senegal’s Said Mane sealed the victory by scoring the third goal.

Senegal, the reigning champions, has now emerged second country to secure their spot in the round of 16 for the AFCON.

Prior to this, Cape Verde became the first nation to guarantee their place in the last-16 by convincingly defeating Mozambique 3-0 in Abidjan.
