Reflecting on his first experience with the national team. Azeez spoke positively about both the environment and his role within the squad.
”Very happy, you know. Obviously, it’s a new position, number 10, and I think I really enjoyed it. It’s a great team, great management, and a great manager. So I think it’s gone well,” he continued.

Creating His Own Identity
As his profile continues to rise, comparisons with former Super Eagles forward Peter Odemwingie have become increasingly common.
However, Azeez is determined to forge his own path and create his own legacy in the game.
”I’m hearing it every day now. But I’ve got to stay humble and create a name for myself,” he said.
The response reflects the grounded mentality that has helped him progress from non-league football to international recognition.

He began his football journey in non-league football with Northwood before moving to Wealdstone in 2018.
A loan spell at Hanwell Town followed before he earned a move to Reading in 2019. Further development came during another loan spell at Bracknell Town before he made his senior debut for Reading in 2021.
Over time, he established himself as an important player for the Royals, particularly during the 2023/24 season. His performances attracted attention from higher divisions.
That progress led to a move to Millwall in 2024, where he has continued to develop and establish himself as one of the Championship’s most exciting attacking players.
Football is deeply embedded within the Azeez family.
Femi’s younger brother, Miguel Azeez, is also a professional footballer and has represented England at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 levels.
