Xavi Takes Legal Action Against Two Journalists

Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernandez has taken a bold step by filing lawsuits against two journalists, Javier Miguel and Manuel Jabois, for spreading what he claims are false and damaging allegations he insisted “will not tolerate the lying”.

Xavi’s decision to pursue legal action arises from what he perceives as a breach of journalistic integrity. Addressing the issue, he stated, “It has never happened to me before… What I will not tolerate is the lying and the situation of making things up.”

The first journalist is Javier Miguel, a freelance journalist who has allegedly accused Xavi of pressuring his staff to reveal potential information leaks by placing their cell phones on the table. Xavi bodily denies these claims & has taken legal action against Miguel to set the record straight.

In Xavi’s own words regarding the allegations made by Javier Miguel, he stated, “I understand the criticism and where I am, but only to a certain extent. What I will not tolerate is lying and the situation of making things up. I think it’s time to say enough is enough. These are very big lies.”

The second journalist facing legal repercussions is Manuel Jabois, a journalist for the Spanish newspaper El Pais & a contributor to Cadena Ser radio station. Jabois made controversial comments on the radio show El Larguero, claiming that Xavi had sent him disparaging private messages. Xavi refutes these allegations, asserting that he never communicated with Jabois in such a manner. Jabois later clarified his statement in a column, revealing that the messages were not direct but conveyed through mutual acquaintances.

In response, Jabois claimed stating, “It (the sender of the messages) was Xavi, but I’m not going to tell you because it was in private. It was through messages and it was a pretty dirty thing and he didn’t say it in public & that’s it.”

Xavi was not satisfied with the explanation and denied the allegations, insisting that the comments were libelous and that he did not know Jabois personally.
