AFCON 2023: Nigeria’s Super Eagles 25-Man Squad For Ivory Coast Actions

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have announced a 25-man squad for the African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

The squad includes seasoned veterans and fresh talents, with Stanley Nwabili as one of the debutant goalkeepers and Francis Uzoho as the under-fire goalkeeper. Olorunleke Ojo, Enyimba’s first-choice goalkeeper, adds local flavour to the squad and will contest for a spot with Nwabili. Zaidu Sanusi, recovering from injury, adds defensive depth to the squad.

Ola Aina, a familiar face making his third AFCON appearance, has been notable for his defensive solidity and Premier League clean sheets.

William Troost-Ekong, a consistent performer, has been a cornerstone in the Eagles’ backline. Bruno Onyemaechi, a standout performer, has made 12 appearances for Boavista, highlighting his potential defensive prowess.

Semi Ajayi is a reliable presence in defence, valued by Peseiro, aiming to bolster the team’s defensive resilience. Alfred Ndidi, an in-form stalwart, has impressed with four goals and six assists in 23 games for Leicester City.

Alex Iwobi, a key figure in Nigeria’s midfield lineup, has three goals in 17 Premier League games. Joe Aribo, a rising star, aims to rediscover his form and make an impact in midfield after sparse opportunities at Southampton.
