Barcelona Prepares New Contract For Lamine Yamal

Barcelona is preparing to offer teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal a new contract to tie down the youngster for the long term.

Seventeen-year-old Yamal skyrocketed to prominence in the footballing world after becoming the youngest player to score in a European Championship tournament this summer.

He played a crucial role in the team’s and ultimately helped Spain lift the trophy.

His success on the international stage has continued at club level, having made his Barcelona breakthrough last season, with the winger scoring three goals in five La Liga appearances in 2024/25.

He recently expressed his desire to “never” leave Barcelona, aiming to become a legend at the club. The Catalan giants may have found a way to help make his dreams a reality.

According to reports from Marca, Barca plans to offer Yamal a new contract when he turns 18 in July. That new deal will see him remain at Camp Nou until 2030 until he’s 23.

The report also indicates that Barcelona plans to offer Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez, or Gavi a comparable deal to represent a generation of young talent that La Masia prospects can aspire to emulate.

Yamal is expected to be a vital part of Barca’s trophy ambitions in both La Liga and the Champions League this season, playing alongside the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Dani Olmo, and Raphinha.

He’s made an excellent start to the 2024/25 campaign, scoring twice in Barca’s 4-1 victory over Girona on Sunday.
