PSG And Monaco Face Off In The Trophée des Champions In Qatar
The French League announced on Thursday that the Trophee des Champions match, featuring Ligue 1 title holders Paris Saint-Germain and French Cup champions AS Monaco, will take place next month in Doha, Qatar.
The January 5th game will be played at Stadium 974, one of the venues at the last World Cup, which is also hosting two matches of the 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup this month.
The Trophee des Champions serves as the traditional kickoff for the French season; however, last year’s match occurred in January, with PSG defeating Toulouse in Paris.
This will mark the first time Qatar has hosted the event, which was first held outside France in 2009 when it took place in Canada.
Since then, the match has also been held in Tunisia, Morocco, the United States, Gabon, China, and Israel.
