Spain Beat France To Win Inaugural Women’s Nations League

Spain defeated France in the Women’s Nations League final at the Estadio de La Cartuja (Sevilla)  on Wednesday.

Aitana Bonmati’s performance was spectacular, as she played a critical role in Spain’s 2-0 victory over France, SportXparte reports.

The World Cup winner proves them again in the Nations League final with an awesome victory.

The match started with Spain showing their determination early on, with centre-back Irene Paredes coming close to scoring from a corner in the 26th minute.

However, it was Bonmati who broke the deadlock just after 32 minutes, latching onto Olga Carmona’s cross to put Spain in the lead.

The Spanish team continued their dominance in the second half, with Mariona Caldentey extending their lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute.

Despite some late attempts by France, they failed to register a single shot on target throughout the match, highlighting Spain’s defensive ability.
Coach Montserrat Tome was delighted with her team’s performance, especially after taking over the team following the World Cup.
