‎Barcelona have confirmed that teenage sensation Lamine Yamal will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a hamstring injury.

‎The 18-year-old pulled up during Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Celta Vigo, shortly after scoring the decisive goal. He was forced off just before half-time and replaced by Swedish international Roony Bardghji.

Despite the setback, the club expects him to recover in time for Spain’s World Cup campaign.

‎Barcelona Statement

‎In a statement published on social media. The Catalan club said, “The tests carried out have confirmed that first-team player Lamine Yamal has a hamstring injury in his left leg (biceps femoris muscle).

‎”The player will follow a conservative treatment plan. Lamine Yamal will miss the remainder of the season. And he is expected to be available for the World Cup.”

‎Barcelona, nine points clear at the top of LaLiga and focused solely on the league, are in no rush to accelerate Lamine Yamal’s recovery in a World Cup year.

The teenager has delivered an outstanding season, producing 16 league goals and 11 assists.

He has also added six goals in the Champions League, reinforcing his importance to the side. Across the campaign, injuries have been relatively rare for him.

‎His only notable setbacks were two groin issues that sidelined him for a total of 23 days. Despite featuring in 51 matches for club and country.

‎Matches He Will Miss

‎He will miss six Barcelona games to end the season. Which include El Clásico against Real Madrid on May 10th, in what could be a Catalan coronation at Camp Nou.

‎He was also a pivotal member of Spain’s EURO 2024 triumph as a 16-year-old, in what was a breakout tournament for the teenager.

Despite being only 18, Lamine Yamal already has 25 caps and is set to be a central figure for his national team this summer.
